MPO: your best candidates, right in front of you.

Even in an unpredictable economy, nearly half (45%) of employees are open to new career opportunities and many are in active searches, according to Randstad’s 2023 Workmonitor survey. In fact, just one-third (33%) say they are not looking for a new job.

That’s why retention and internal mobility are essential to sustainable talent strategies. According to Randstad Enterprise’s 2023 Talent Trends research, about two-thirds (65%) of talent leaders say retention positively impacts their company. And that number jumps to 71% among life sciences companies.

By redeploying talent internally, companies can increase productivity, reduce turnover and cut costs, but there are challenges. According to Janet Mertens, senior vice president of research for the Josh Bersin Company, a leading HR analyst firm, “Internal mobility is hard, it's really hard, because of the technology, because of the process, but it’s also hard because of the culture piece.”
