the talent multiverse is here.

Innovation is accelerating. Generative AI is transforming how treatments are discovered, developed and delivered across the life sciences and pharma sector — and the choices you make today as a talent leader will define the talent multiverse ahead.

To capitalize on this momentum, companies are rethinking how work is structured, overhauling organizational culture with AI and going skills-first to future-proof teams and build long-term resilience. Why? Because innovation is your competitive edge — and your workforce is the engine that drives it.

As we mark 10 years of Randstad Enterprise’s Talent Trends, the 2025 research uncovers the challenges life sciences and pharma talent leaders face as they navigate the radical shifts in today’s talent landscape. While 88% of industry leaders say AI frees employees to focus on high-value work, critical challenges persist:

  • 83% struggle to find the right skills, and 75% expect shortages to worsen.

  • Only 37% prioritize blended workforce models — the lowest of all sectors surveyed.

  • Just 39% prioritize HR reskilling, and only 37% plan to increase L&D investment — both well below global averages.

Explore the findings — and discover three key trends shaping the future of work — as life sciences leaders put talent strategies into action by accelerating AI adoption, enabling workforce agility and keeping people at the center.
